Trade Association Set for Convergence 2010 in Detroit

The TA will host a new, comprehensive demonstration of 1394 Automotive at the biennial Convergence Conference in Detroit Oct. 19-20 in booth 1019.

The demonstration will feature a pair of DVD players and an iPOD linked over the 1394-Automotive network to a pair of displays.  The demo will use nine-pin connectors and coaxial, STQ and STP cabling.

Richard Mourn of Astek, a long time Trade Association leader and a member of the board, is putting the demonstration together with the help of key member companies, which will show how 1394 Automotive provides the optimal size, weight, cost, flexibility, availability, high level command set, and PHY layer performance that makes it the superior choice for vehicle networks.  The TA also will provide technical backgrounders — including the recently published comparison between 1394-Automotive and AVB -- to carmakers, suppliers, industry analysts and members of the media who attend Convergence 2010.

Convergence 2010 will be held at the Cobo Center in downtown Detroit. It is sponsored by SAE. For more information visit http://www.sae.org/events/convergence/
